Part II

After the success of 'First One To Die Loses Part I', it would take another four years to bring its sequel to the screen. "It's not that we didn't want to do it" says director Reg Noyes, "We always wanted it to be a trilogy. But we didn't want to just put another movie out there. The important thing to us was that we got it right."The wait was worth it. When 'Part II' hit UK screens in April 2002 it took more at the box office in the film's first 3 weeks than 'Part I' did all together. The story picks up where no-one thought it could, with Harri Grace seemingly back as Flash Del Montay. "It did cause a lot of confusion" adds the 25 year old actor, "but I'm not here to discuss the film's ideas - that's for the audience to decide. The beauty of these films is that they are open to interpretation. What's the point in making your intentions clear? It will only confuse the real message."

With Flash Del Montay back from the grave, 'Part II' sees him pitched against Ice Phoenix (Wil Rees) once again. Taking the action outside, the film explores more complex issues of space and identity with the characters constantly searching forests and fields for their true place of solitude. "Do we ever really find what we're looking for? That's what we wanted to explore with 'Part II'" says Reg Noyes. "It's an age old question that no-one knows the answer to but, if you really think about it, the answer is 'No'."
