Reg Noyes first saw Danial Mundalzan on CrimeWatch Wales, in a piece on Cardiff City hooligans. He decided then and there that Dan was perfect for the role of Demolition Dan, and has always maintained that it wasn't just because his name was Dan. With no formal training and very little experience of life in the public eye, Mendelssohn found the pressures of his new found fame very difficult to deal with. Unfortunately this led him into a downward spiral of alcoholism, drug abuse and violent crime, culminating in the infamous botched armed robbery attempt on Cowbridge QuickSave.
After spending several years in hiding in South America, Mendelssohn was again forced to flee the authorities after being linked with further drug and prostitution trafficking charges and was eventually extradited to the UK. Astonishingly, his conviction was quashed due to lack of evidence and he has recently been welcomed back into the First One To Die Loses fold, with a view to an appearance in Part VIII.
This has allegedly angered Rory McGrath (The Grizzler) who has vowed never to work with Mendelssohn again, however it has definitely struck a chord with the dozen or so hardcore Demolition Dan fans.
